A Chinese Energetic therapy session lasts one hour on average.
The practitioner will first have a conversation with the person to determine the context of the
visit. Then, once the person has undressed, they lie down on a treatment table where they will
receive the treatment which includes acupressure and, if the practitioner sees the need,
moxibustion using an artemisia stick.
Chinese medicine is concerned with communication between the various organic functions,
closely linked to each other by a stream of energy, called "chi" or "Qi." According to this
principle, illness results from energy blocks or imbalances. The entire art of Chinese medicine
therefore consists in restoring harmony in these energy flows.
Valérie Blouin studied traditional Chinese medicine for four years at the Sfere Chinese Medecine
School in Aix-Les-Milles (13). After completing her studies, she obtained a diploma in traditional
Chinese acupuncture. She has practiced Chinese energetic therapy since 2004 in Villefranche-sur-
Mer. She is a member of the National Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Reiki Master
and Stress Management trainer.
